The Community Restoration Work Begins in Earnest

In 2019 a meeting with Leeds City Council & the Association met disregard on the part of the council. The wishes of the local community were completely ignored and indeed the association was met with contempt by the council. But we are nothing if not a democracy and so the people reluctantly began legal proceedings against the council and began to reinstate the ground themselves giving birth to the TV Harrison Sports Ground Association, winning three court hearings in succession.

Leeds United legends Brian Deane and Noel Whelan were both dismayed after seeing the state of this grass roots football pitch where their illustrious careers began. Both have since supported the cause for restoration. So work begins in 2019 to restore this ground for the community and local teams. Without support from the local council or trustees the pitch was restored with contributions from the community, both with time and money.

A Determined Community Providing For The Community

The results of a determined community have been amazing. Now designated  a Community Asset the TV Harrison ground has take its first steps back to its former glory. There is still much work to be done on the ground and anyone who feels they would like to get involved are asked to contact the association.
